I’m working day shift for a few weeks. I’m not a fan. I do, however, act like a Lady Bird and eat super healthy carrots every day. I can’t wait for night shift. Chocolate binging to commence!
Tried to go trail running today, but a mama moose and calf stood at the trailhead. I went up a different, exhausting, steep way and made it about 20 minutes before I realized it was way too hard. But the view was worth it, despite not running.
So, I went to a carwash. Where I paid good money for machines to blast this hunk of metal with superpowered water and soap. And shit, it looks better, but not good enough.
The Canadian Rockies, between Banff and Jasper, were filled with tourists. As we drove and hiked along the Icefields Parkway, we were surrounded by families as well as teams of spry, old grandmothers with perfectly applied, bright makeup. Everything directly along the highway seemed like Disneyland for nature: EMERALD WATER! HISTORICAL SWISS CHALET! GLACIAL LAKE!…
Just, ya know, camping and hiking in the Arctic Circle.
Gravel roads. Love em.
This is from outside of Fairbanks! I’m going north north north today!
