Day 142: St. Peter to Minneapolis (68 miles)

image

Today, I was on a bike trail for almost half the day. At one point, a fence claimed that the trail was closed do to mudslides. So I investigated, found nothing seriously wrong, and jumped the fence (two times) with my bike and all my stuff. Top ten reasons to have a biking partner: help jump fences.

    • Also it looks on your route as though you were planning to go through Iowa, but I see you’re headed North to Minneapolis, MN. If you are still planning on going East, you may wish to follow the Mississippi River and go through the La Crosse, Wisconsin area.

P.S. I see you mention some history so here’s some on the largest mass execution in U.S. History in Mankato, MN just minutes from St. Peter.

      • I actually have modified the route and will be crossing Wisconsin and biking over the upper peninsula. Thank you for sharing that link-horrifying. It’s incredible what has happened here, and I’m realizing every day how much I don’t know
